Welcome to the Tamworth Choral Society Home Page TAMWORTH CHORAL SOCIETY GOES PLATINUM! Well in truth, many of our number already have or are! We are celebrating our 70th Anniversary this year!
Established in 1949, Tamworth Choral Society has a long unbroken history of singing for fun. We present annual Autumn and Spring Concerts as well as a popular Christmas Carol concert "Coffee, Cake & Carols" and have had much success at Eisteddfods over the years. We are also asked on many occasions to sing at other Community Events, for example - Community Carol Events and ANZAC day services.
Over the years the choir has performed a variety of major works such as Handel's Solomon and Messiah, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Vivaldi's Gloria, Faure's Requiem and Bach's Cantata No. 4 as well as popular programs like "Love and Romance", "Medley Mania", "A People in Slavery Sing", "From Hammerstein to Bernstein" or "Four Seasons and a Boat".
New members are always welcome. We meet on Monday evenings, from 7.15 to 9pm, at St Peter's Church, Cnr Vera & Kathleen Sts, Tamworth.
No experience is necessary - you don't need to be able to read music really well, just be able to hold a tune! Both male and female voices are very welcome. Why not give it a go - being part of a mixed voice choir is both exhilarating and a great achievement - and you'll make friends to keep for a lifetime.
